Russell Brand in a video on his YouTube channel expressed his shock and disbelief in response to an investigation that found certain commercial baby foods are contaminated with dangerously high levels of arsenic, lead, mercury and cadmium — all of which are linked to serious, lifelong health effects.

In the video below, Russell Brand expressed his shock and disbelief in response to an investigation that found certain commercial baby foods are contaminated with dangerously high levels of arsenic, lead, mercury and cadmium — all of which are linked to serious, lifelong health effects.

This finding, result of an investigation by House Committee on Oversight + Reform, documented presence of highly toxic inorganic arsenic, cadmium, lead + mercury in baby food at levels far above limits set by regulators for drinking water + other products – Robert F Kennedy Jr.

“What kind of poisoning lunatics are running the baby food show nowadays?” asked Brand.

The Guardian reported that baby foods sold under the brands Gerber, Beech-Nut, Earth’s Best Organic and HappyBABY contain up to 91 times more inorganic arsenic, 117 times more lead and 69 times more cadmium than the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s maximum allowable levels in bottled water.

And mercury levels in baby food were up to 5 times the level established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for drinking water.

Brand said:

“Are you a parent? Even if you’re not, you might be wondering why there are dangerous levels of arsenic and lead in baby food. Why have any arsenic and lead in baby food, let alone too much?”

As an “open-minded person” who doesn’t “trust authority,” Brand said he was still surprised to learn there could be dangerous heavy metals in baby food.

“Doesn’t it open the door in your mind to the potential that there is stuff going on that is almost unfathomably bad?” asked Brand. “You can’t even trust organic baby food.”
